Synopsis

Thor returns to Asgard to discover that all of the Asgardian gods are overcome by some sort of lethargy. Knowing that the despondency of the gods must be connected to the absence of Odin, Thor summons Mimir to ascertain the missing all-father's whereabouts. Thor is worried that the enemies of Asgard will attack, if they find out how weak her guardians are.Mimir reveals a pyramid that has popped up in California. Thor watches as Odin, still suffering from his self-imposed amnesia, is invited inside by Egyptian gods. Mimir explains that a great battle has been going on between Horus and his half-brother Seth, the serpent-god of death. When the Romans had defeated the Egyptians, Seth finally had his victory over Horus and the other Egyptian gods. He buried them in the pyramid of kings, until the time of Atum-Re.Thor rushes to free his father from the pyramid and return him to Asgard in order to revive the other gods. Thor strikes the pyramid, drawing out Horus, who feels that this 'attack' is unwarranted. He responds by using the 'eye of Horus' to fill Thor's mind with confusion. The thunder god brings on a storm which covers the eye, thus releasing Thor from Horus' control. The battle comes to blows. Thor overcomes Horus, but is interrupted by an angry voice. He turns to see an Odin, who not only does not recognize him, but threatens him as an enemy.The issue concludes with Odin calling himself Atum-Re -- father of the gods, and threatening to kill Thor.
